Hi, I’m Sommer. I’m an illustrator & fine artist living and working on the central coast of California. My portfolio includes whimsical images inspired by the natural world and aims to awaken imaginative living, creativity, and the flower child in all of us! I have an MFA from UC Santa Barbara and currently teach art at local universities. I have one self-published title (A Pig for Friendship) and a new children’s book set to be published in 2026 with Pegasus Publishers.
The world of children’s literature has always been a passion of mine as an accessible form of visual and verbal story telling for all ages. I love to see young eyes and creative minds light up! Ahhh, the power of story… the power of images!
When not in my studio, I can be found globe-trotting, speaking French, walking, dancing, playing tennis, and mothering two precious kiddos. xo
